Troyanovi Vrata
In 986, Bulgarians, led by Samuil won a great victory in the battle at Troyanovi Vrata. On August 17, after the defeat of his army, the Byzantine Emperor Basil II fled, leaving behind his treasure hoard and a supply train.
The area of Troyanovi vrata may be visited at any time. It still carries the spirit of the fighting troups and legions against the Byzantine Emperor Basil II. One can feel the atmosphere of the area, as if there are still warrios, screaming and sending orders to one another. It is a magnificent sight, whenever any visitor or tourist decides to roam around Troyanovi Vrata. The feeling is as if these brave and mighty warroirs are still alive and fighting tirelessly against the enemy.
